A weekend in Cotswold

Address: 6, Lake, 17 Spine Rd E, South Cerney, Cirencester GL7 5FP
Last weekend me and my best friends decided to go on a little break to Cotswold in Cirencester. I was so excited to get away for a couple of days and venture somewhere new!
Life gets so busy that it's nice to just unwind and have a little breather away from the busy city life. I love exploring places I've never been before and it was so nice just to get away for a bit.

We arrived on the Friday afternoon and it was such a lovely sunny day. I noticed immediately how relaxing and beautiful Cotswold was. The hills, majestic trees and the grassy pathways surround the lakes were breath-taking.

When we arrived we noticed how busy the hotel was, so obviously must be a popular place to get away. The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming, we were given our key cards and shown to our apartment. Our two bed, self-catering apartment was larger than we had expected, fitted out with a dishwasher, cooker, fridge, microwave, kettle, pots/pans, tea/coffee etc. As well as a kitchen and dining room, the living room provided ample space for us all, plus the free WiFi was an added bonus.

As our apartment was located on the top floor and we had a balcony overlooking the grounds, we would try and utilise the outdoor sitting area when the weather was pleasant.

Here are a few snaps of our apartment during the weekend:

As we had a cute little kitchen area we cooked a two lovely meals, Black Bean Chicken Stir Fry and Chicken Fajitas - I'd say cooking felt like part of the experience because we didn't burn the food this time.
To help burn off all the calories, we decided to hire bikes and explore the area - Big shout out to Nigel the head concierge at Four Pillars for driving us to 'Go-Cycle' as we had no means of transport!! Once we hired our bikes we rode for a good 4 hours around the gorgeous lakes stopping every few minutes to absorb the beauty and snapchat. We rode through small pathways surrounding the lakes, getting stuck in nasty nettle trees, having bugs fly in our face, ending up in a 'no entry' restricted area and finally losing the path to get back home. But for the stunning views, the serenity and to experience all this with my two best buds - it was all worth it.

Our final day, we enjoyed the spa 6 facilities which are free for hotel guests -relaxing in the pool, sauna and steam room to loosen up our muscles from all the bike riding. Followed by a delightful lunch at The Old BoatHouse Pub.

My stay at Four Pillars was very pleasant, will be back again with my family! Cotswold has gorgeous views and it's the perfect place to relax. It's crazy to think we were only a couple of hours away from home.
Have you been to Cotswold? Where shall I go next? Any recommendations?
