Over the weekend I was invited to the FASHIONbasecamp Nomination Party held at the trendy Piano Bar in Soho.
This event hosted a celebration evening in recognition of success and efforts of talented and determined newly established business start ups.
The event had live entertainment from two amazing up and coming artists and a set of nominated fashion start ups.
If you haven't heard of FASHIONbasecamp before.. I'm glad you're hearing about it now especially if you're a budding, aspiring or emerging fashion designer or entrepreneur.. if you are, then this is the company you should get in contact with.
The FASHIONbasecamp team offers a very practical platform for guidance, knowledge and expertise that you need when you're trying to take those steps forward to develop your business.
Ben Muis (Head of Mentoring at FASHION basecamp) and Natalia (our presenter for the evening) announced the 5 fashion entrepreneurs who made it through the 1st round of nominations. Congratulations to the following:

1) Stacy Chan @stacychanbags

Stacy wanted to create a brand that was defended by its unique shapes and wanted to produce something that was different than what's in the market now. After taking a peek at the handbags at LFW pop up store, I could see why this brand is so diverse, they have a bag for every taste and occasion. Take a look at the collection over at www.stacychan.com

2) George Hodgson @maisondechoup

This brand really means a lot, the story behind the brand is touching. George has a real focus on helping charity. As he suffered with Anxiety, he's dedicated 25% the earning of a specific t-shirt design to 'Young Minds' charity. Maison de Choup are not only a T-shirt brand but have expanded into bags. Pop over to www.maisondechoup.co.uk to have a look at the progression from one product to another.

3) Alexandra Ursan @kites_and_bites

Kites and Bites clothing range is very edgy, contemporary and multicultural. You can see many designs have an oriental vibe to it. Alexandra's designs have been inspired by her travels - as you can see through the different shapes and colours seen on her products. Take a look at some of my favourite dresses over at www.kitesandbites.com

4) Sophie Bath-Stirk @lillyandcarter

Lilly and Carter are a womenswear brand. This brand is very accessible to all women, showcasing a wide variety of different styles. Take a look at their SS16 + AW 16/17 Lookbook over at https://www.lilyandcarter.co.uk

5) Ayesha Mirza @littlewardrobelondon

Little Wardrobe London is a childrens-wear brand. All clothing is designed and made in London. Being 100% British is what defines the brand. Have you had a look at the selection of boys and girls clothing they have -https://www.littlewardrobelondon.co.uk
