If you have me on Snapchat (username: sab.sabs) you'll know how much I loved this outfit I wore to the FASHIONbasecamp nomination party this month.
 Velvet Top - Primark
Midi Skirt - New Look
Clutch - New Look
Heels - Valentinos
Jewellery - Debenhams Brand:Pilgrim

Midi skirts have always been off my radar as I felt that it would look quite unflattering on me, as I don't have the height. So I always thought I could end up looking quite short and stumpy.

But when I came across this midi skirt I fell in love! Just sitting on its own in the corner of the shop it had me written all over it. It just looked so sophisticated and immediately I thought this would pair perfectly with my beloved black rockstud valentinos.

I've learnt the best thing about a black midi skirt is that it's really easy to style. A plain tee can go a long way to keep it simple for the daytime or a bright top/fitted crop top with accessories can style it up for an evening out.

This gorgeous netted midi skirt I picked up recently from New Look has had me daydreaming of gossip girl. I could re watch gossip girl again and again - such a classic. Wouldn't it be a dream to have a wardrobe full of Serena Van Der Woodsen's clothes... ahhh major outfit envy i have!

My 5 top style tips for midi skirts:
  1. I feel like heels is a must, but that just my personal preference.
  2. Wear a fitted top and tuck it into the skirt. As the bottom of the skirt is quite puffy, so you want to create an illusion of a waist.
  3. On chiller days, throw on a short leather jacket over your shoulder.
  4. For a more professional look - pair this midi with a fitted blazer, it'll make you look smart and glamorous.
  5. If you decide to wear a plain tee, why not pair it with bright accessories and plain pumps to stand out.

This is one of my favourite looks so far!
