Last Sunday me and my friends flew back to the UK from Greece, Kos with Thomson/ First Choice. I think me and my friends can agree that the holiday was everything we pictured and more. We stayed at Akti Beach Club Hotel, a unique 4 star hotel located at the coastline of Kos Island.

Prior to booking our holiday we were finding it so hard to decide on where to go, as there were way to many great deals on the Thomson website. But finally after a lot of reach and some good reviews we decided on an all inclusive deal at Akti Beach Club - this included hotel, flights, transfers, shuttle bus to town and food. What more can you ask for!!!
When we arrived at the hotel and was shown our room... lets just say we weren't really feeling the holiday vibe at all. Firstly our hotel room was quite a walk from the main hotel lobby, our rooms had a strange stench, the bathroom was horrible and our view from the balcony was just some dried up palm trees.

After my friends complained to reception several times, the staff did everything they could and upgraded us to a FANTASTIC room over looking the pool and beach bar. Our new room was fabulous, so spacious and light, the bathroom was clean and the view from the balcony was breathtaking.

Although we felt our holiday started off on a negative the hotel staff did everything to make the rest of our stay very pleasant.

The hotel was a 10 minute drive from the Kardamena shopping village and the hotel offered a regular shuttle bus service during the day. Just a word of advise... if you want to walk from Kardamena to the hotel, it's around an hour and 20 minutes walk away... not a 7 minute walk that we were told on a night out! *LOL* But lets just say that walk will be one to remember for many holidays to come.

Moving on to the most important thing of any holiday... THE FOOOOOOOD!!!!

Food at Akti Beach Club Hotel was amazing! I'm talking about the food from the pool snack bar all the way through to dinner and The Mermaid Restaurant (reservation is necessary for The Mermaid Restaurant).

The snack bar near the pools were open from 10am till 6pm and served fresh pizza, burgers, hot dogs, chicken nuggets and chips as well as soft drinks and cocktails. All of these snacks were perfect for lounging by the pool and Mimi, one of the bar staff members made us delicious cocktails!

We were all impressed with the variety of food on offer for dinner, especially with the many vegetarian dishes.

I have to say the chinese cooking station was the best, we loved the noodles, chicken and spring rolls and the freshly baked italian pizza just doesn't compare to London.

Shoutout to Eleni for the midnight pancakes and omelettes, she's such a sweetheart and Claudio for the fresh Italian Pizza's, you guys made us put on a few pounds but it was all worth it!

Overall our holiday was lots of fun. The staff at Akti Beach Cub were lovely and made us feel welcome throughout our trip. I would recommend this all inclusive  to everyone, especially families.

Have you been to Greece before?
Where would you recommend we go on our next holiday?
